Two Injured in Criminal Act in Rural Zionsville Home

police investigation1At approximately 6 p.m. Friday, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a criminal act at 1545 South US 421 in rural Zionsville. The elderly female has been identified as Helen Irene Fix, who is a 76 years old female from Boone County. Mrs. Fix owns the residence. The female caretaker is not being identified at this time because family has not been notified.

Both victims involved in this criminal act have been transported to St. Vincent Hospital where we can report Mrs. Fix has been released from the hospital. The female caretaker still remains in the hospital in stable condition.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is currently exhausting every resource as we continue actively working this case to locate the person responsible for this act. We have a multi-agency effort in place in an attempt to bring this situation to a quick resolution. Currently the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the Zionsville Police Department and the Zionsville Fire Department continue to work diligently on this case. The Boone County Prosecutors Office has also provided personnel to assist in this ongoing investigation.

Family of the caretaker has been notified. Due to the nature of the criminal acts and for the safety of this victim we will not be identifying the caretaker at this time.

Boone County Sheriff Mike Nielsen stated “We have been working diligently since the 911 call to bring those responsible for these acts to justice. We will not stop those efforts until we have solved this crime.”
