Middle School Principal Arrested For Drunk Driving

districtLogoBlueFrankfort Middle School Principal Dennis Howland was arrested on Oct. 26 on suspicion of drunk driving in Boone County. Howland was arrested and charged with two Class A misdemeanors. He was released on a $550 bond. According to Thorntown Police Department Officer Stephen Bradley, Howland was observed driving near the intersection of Indiana 39 and West 750 North in Boone County shortly after midnight on Oct. 26. Howland was driving 66 mph in a 55-mph zone and failed to keep his vehicle in the proper lane. Howland pleaded not guilty in his initial court appearance Oct. 28 and a bench trial was scheduled. School officials are investigating the situation. Until anything is resolved, Howland will remain the principal at Frankfort Middle School.
