Here are the results for the 2nd quarter for our DUI Task Force that consists of Howard County Sheriff Department, Kokomo Police Department, and Greentown Police Department. This is something new they are starting. They want to show the community that we are taking a serious stance on DUI Enforcement and want them to be aware of the results.
Sheriff Steve Rogers announced Monday that the Howard County DUI Task Force, consisting of the Kokomo Police Department, Greentown Police Department, and the Howard County Sheriff’s Department worked a total of 90 hours of the federally funded overtime. During the enforcement patrols 231 vehicles were stopped resulting in 9 arrests for the following: DUI and Driving while suspended The task force also issued 188 warnings for various traffic related violations.
Throughout the rest of the fiscal 2017 year, additional federally funded overtime patrols will be utilized to crack down on impaired drivers. Agencies that participate in this effort are funded by grants through the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI).
